Tycoon Mike Ashley, renowned businessman and owner of the Newcastle United Football Club, recently won £1.3 million playing roulette at an exclusive casino in Mayfair. Ashley won this astonishing amount through several bets centered around his lucky number, 17, and surprised all the other visitors to the Fifty London Casino.

According to witnesses, the millionaire wagered a total of £480,000 in only fifteen minutes, before leaving the table. The former owner of Sports Direct is said to be an enthusiast of table games, especially roulette, and this is not the first time he bets such an amount of money.

A member of the casino stuff said Ashley was sitting calmly and when he saw the roulette ball fall into the number 17 slot, he looked at the croupier and said: “That’ll do me, thanks very much.” After that, he walked away with his prize while all the other punters applauded.
