The British justice has sentenced Martín Fitz under the charge of scam on a roulette game in the Gala Casino. Now, he has to face an undetermined number of community service hours.

The scam is known under the name of ‘top hatting’ and it consists on taking advantage of the distraction of the dealer, as well as the casino inspectors, people in charge of the security of the casino and the rest of the players that are at the table when the ball stops on a number. On that moment the scammer moves his chips and puts them on the number that turned out to be the winner.

Fitz had gone together with Martin Kwong Lee and Suhal Miah. Kwong Lee was sentenced to 180 community service hours and he will have to pay £170, Miah was sentenced to 12 months of parole and he will have to pay £800.

This is not the first time that Kwong Lee and Suhal Miah are accused of this kind of crimes in casinos. Both men had been arrested on 2003 in the Gala Casino for a similar scam.
