Excellent news for online gambling companies and online gambling fans. South Africa will be the next country to legalize online poker and online gambling in general, answering in this way to the growing demand of this industry in the country.

After the United States experience, that showed than prohibiting online gambling does little to solve the regulatory problems of the business, many countries have followed the American example of giving a legal and regulatory frame to online gambling companies. Some of the countries that have followed this path are: Poland, Spain, Italy, Singapore, United Kingdom and now South Africa, just to name a few.

The fast growth of online casino companies and specially online poker companies in South Africa has worried the government authorities for quite a long time now; therefore, they have decided to follow the phrase “if you can not beat your enemies, join them”…or at least regulate them.

It is expected that this new regulatory legislation will be finished soon by the government authorities and will be announced before the end of this year.
