American and Mexican scientists study the causes of the resistance of the pines of that country, analyzing the possibility of planting them in Mars. The professionals review the characteristics of the coniferous that grow in slopes of the highest mountain of Mexico, the Tip of Orizaba (5,647 meters of height), in as adverse conditions as the cold and the lack of oxygen, according to the informed thing by chain Cnn. The investigation within the framework began five years ago of the denominated project "Terraformación of the Mars planet", in which they participate expert in the NASA and the public universities National Independent of Mexico (UNAM) and Veracruzana, in Veracruz (Gulf of Mexico).
The intention of the project is to understand how to create propitious conditions for the development of the life in other planets, specifically in Mars. The investigation consists of studying in the Earth the innumerable processes of adaptation of the life in extreme zones, in this case the flora in the skirts of the Tip of Orizaba, where a species of pine is developed. The scientists discovered that the slopes of this sleepy volcano are the unique ones in the world where plants to that height can live and that the bacteria adhered in the pines produce fertilizers that, apparently, generate the photosynthesis and their own foods, which allows the growth of these trees in a so inhospitable zone.
