Playboy to build casino in Macau

Playboy Enterprises Inc. has announced that it intends to open a gaming complex in Macau in 2008. The decision came after reports of rising incomes in China’s enclave, which is competing with Las Vegas as the gaming capital of the world.

“Macau has vast growing power as a travel destination, with the number of visitors expected to double between 2006 and 2011,” Christie Hefner, daughter of Hugh Hefner and Playboy Chairman and Chief Executive, explained. She also added that $2 billion will be invested in the Playboy Mansion Macao that will be built in partnership with Macao Studio City.

Early this morning, the Stardust Hotel and Casino was demolished, leaving behind a rich part of the history of Las Vegas. The demolition ended a yearlong goodbye to the classic 48-year-old resort that was considered in its glory days the ultimate in opulence and style.

Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack were regulars of the Stardust and it was the original home of the illusionist duo Siegfried and Roy. The venue was also the scenario of organized crime activities that inspired the book and movie “Casino”.

The British justice has sentenced Martín Fitz under the charge of scam on a roulette game in the Gala Casino. Now, he has to face an undetermined number of community service hours.

The scam is known under the name of ‘top hatting’ and it consists on taking advantage of the distraction of the dealer, as well as the casino inspectors, people in charge of the security of the casino and the rest of the players that are at the table when the ball stops on a number. Mohawk Indian Tribe to open casino

The Mohawk Indian Tribe is a step closer to open a casino in the Catskills since the New York Interior Department approved their casino projects environmental review. The agency concluded that the projected casino would not have any important impact on the environment.

The Interior Department’s approval is seen by the Tribe as the greatest gift for the holiday season. “It's a terrific Christmas gift for the tribe,” Leslie Logan, the Mohawk Tribe spokesman, said. “That’s how we are feeling.”

Next Sunday 3rd, the students have programmed an Open House, where different demonstrations, contests and experiments will take place. The Physics and Math students will present technical experiments and solutions to use the computer and design games.

Casino Parque Mediterráneo opens with roulette tables

The Gran Casino of Cartagena, which is operated by the Gran Madrid Group, is going to be opening its facilities next November 16th. The place has 1500 square feet of surface and, after investing nine million euros, it will employ a total of 103 persons.

The staff will be formed by the 70 professionals that were doing their job in the Casino Costa Cálida, in the Hotel Hyatt Regency La Manga and other 33 incorporations.
