Demand against Playtech for online roulette technology patent

Yaakov Rafaeli, together with Lubar, the company where he works as a president, have presented a demand in the District Court of Tel Aviv, against gambling software provider Playtech and another three companies for breaking the law patents with regards to an online roulette system that could change the virtual game universe forever.

UK man jumps from Casino roof

Neil Roberts, who was a 27-years-old English tourist in Las Vegas, committed suicide last week. He jumped from the roof of the “Stratosphere Tower”.

Short before jumping, he wrote an e-mail to his mother -back in England- telling her that he had won $1100 at the Roulette. He also told her that the weather was exquisite and that he had visited the Great Canon.

Industry predictions that the final six weeks of the year would be massive at the overseas box office got a boost over the weekend as domestic champion "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" conjured up a record-setting $85.5 million kickoff.

No jail for bent Crown dealer

A crown dealer has been spared immediate jail after admitting he conspired with punters to rig a gaming machine in their favour.

Casino croupier Gangyi Zhang, 36, took bribes from gamblers to manually override a roulette machine, costing the casino more than $60,000.

The County Court heard Zhang, of Pascoe Vale, was paid $6000 in secret commissions by one gambler, Deasy Widjaja, to ensure her number came up.

Casino code of conduct

Representatives of South Africa's rapidly growing casino sector have signed the country's first-ever national gambling industry code of conduct, making it one of the first globally to do so outside the US. South Africa's listed gaming groups include Sun International (SUI), Gold Reef Casino Resorts (GDF), and Peermont Global (PTG), amongst others.

Announcing the conclusion of the code of conduct in Cape Town, Casino Association (Casa) said that it would bind all casinos in South Africa to "demanding protocols" designed to promote a culture of responsible gambling in the country.
